To create a lively area, the buildings and activities are important, but also the outdoor space has to be attractive: it must be green, inspiring to view, to walk through and to stay for a while.

Park, water, ecological zone.

Around the water area, a park and ecological zone will be created for walking. The water area will contain neophytes filters in order to clean the grey water from the buildings. The area will not contain a lot of pavements, in order to collect the rain water in a natural way. Pavements will be made of wood and other natural, bio based materials. It will be studied what species of animals can live in this half dry half wet areas. Also, we will investigate the integration of an algae pond, to produce bio materials and pure oxygen. If feasible, we will integrate outdoor swimming and outdoor skating in this area.

Lighting the area

LED lights directly fed by solar cells and integrated in the pavement or in other elements, will lighten this outdoor area. LED lighted tracks will guide you through the area, for example for touristic or jogging tours. You simply choose the options with you smart phone App.

In the water, fountains will be lighted with LED lights directly driven by solar cells. Signs, street names, elements to sit on, will all be lighted by LED solar lights.

In the evenings and at night, progressive and artistic light plans, taking full advantage of colored LED light opportunities, will accentuate the futuristic area and the attractiveness of sustainable concepts. These LED lights will be integrated in the objects and buildings of the Green Campus.

All LED lights can be controlled from a distance so that that different atmospheres and pictures can be created.

It will be investigated if we can integrate LED lights in the Green Hotel to create a gigantic outdoor cinema. Will holographic pictures in the air or in water sprays be an option?

The outdoor space will be used to show green art objects. There are LED light artists, Solar robotica artists, waste artists, etc. who will be invited to showcase their pieces and performances. Outdoor as well as indoor locations will be available for expositions. You will be able to find exhibitions, events, shows, visitor tours and education tours as part of the extensive programming of the outdoor space.
